MSTI and Noyce Fellowship Programs announced. These fellowships provide up to $4,000 and $10,000 per year, respectively, to undergraduate students who are prospective math or science middle- or high-school teachers. Program descriptions are available at

CSME mini-grant program RFP announced. All faculty in the CoE and the CoSE are encouraged to apply. Applications are due April 16, 2007. The RFP is

Funds and plans to establish the Center were approved by President Corrigan and Provost and Vice President Gemello.
Profs. Dave Dempsey, Department of Geosciences, and Ray Trautman, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, were appointed interim faculty co-directors by Dean Sheldon Axler.

Following 18 months of faculty meetings and reviews with the Deans of the Colleges of Education and Science & Engineering, Prof. Eric Hsu, Department of Mathematics, presented a proposal to establish the Center to President Robert Corrigan, Vice President and Provost John Gemello, and Associate Vice President of Research and Sponsored Programs Ken Paap.
